Besides beaches and sea, Busan is hilly and mountainous everywhere. Exploring his neighbourhood thru alley itself can be a good exercise as it required some uphill and downhill. Today we decided to hike Baesan, a 256m high mountain at the back of the high school he attended, about 2 km walk from his house. Surrounded by residential areas, Baesan is a place where the locals come for walking and hiking daily. The trail is moderately strenuous and it takes an hour to complete the full trail.
We begin our hike from Namil high school 부산남일고등학교 and descending via Yeonjuam temple 연주암. We did not walk the full trails today, we just want to cover up the trails in Suyeong-gu side. For your information, Baesan is located between Suyeong-gu and Yeonje-gu, therefore it can be hike up from few entrance. One of the well-known trail head begin from the Ancient Tombs in Yeonsan-dong, Yeonje-gu. It's a giant size tomb from the Three Kingdom era and total 18 of them lined up along the trail. Recommended to start from here if you want an interesting view along the way to summit.
The slope we walk up before reaching the trail head next to the school, has warm us up before the hike.
Beautiful hardy chrysanthemums in the jungle.
Public exercise equipment in the jungle.
Public toilet in the mountain.
This Kindy run by the Yeonjuam temple has an interesting fire exit slides at the back of their building.
