Barley Rice & Grilled Mackerel~ Myeongju-ne Ggongdang Boribap, Ilgwang, Gijang

October 2017. Day 14 in Busan. Since we are in Seongjeong, we continue drive along the dalmaji-gil to Ilgwang, Gijang for boribab as lunch. This Boribab restaurant is located in a small neighborhood along the shore known as 온정마을 On-jeong Village. It is well known with seaside cafe, restaurant and airbnb with open sea view. Our boribap course is 8,000won per pax, with an add-on of grilled mackerel @8,000won to share along. Bo-ri-bab is steamed rice with barley, served with doenjang-guk, vegetables side dishes and gochujang. It's a vegetarian course where we can enjoy the barley rice with the sides and soup, or bibim it with desire namul and gochujang. I prefer bibim so I make it into bibm-bap style. This is my second time having boribap bibimbap in Busan. It's taste good with a chewy texture, and more heathier compare to eating normal white rice.

After lunch, we walk over to a cafe by the sea named Caffe Bay 266 for coffee. The cafe is just 50m away from Boribap restaurant - I will blog it in next post. Ilgwang has become popular among the locals lately. If you are not driving, bus or taxi is the only way to Onjeong Village.

How to get here :Take Bus 1003 to 기장도서관 Gijang Library Station. Get down and cross the road to the opposite bus stop which is also Gijang Library, take Bus 188 to 온전 Onjeong stop. Onjeong village is just across the road opposite of Onjeong Stop (in last picture).
