Barley Rice & Grilled Mackerel~ Myeongju-ne Ggongdang Boribap, Ilgwang, Gijang

Came to Ilgwang, Gijang for boribap as lunch. This restaurant is located in a small neighborhood along the shore known as On-jeong Village 온정마을 - well known with cafe and restaurant with open sea view. The hearty lunch of the day is boribap course @ 8,000 won & grilled mackerel @ 8,000won. Bo-ri-bab is steamed rice with barley, served with doenjang-guk, vegetables side dishes as well as gochujang. It's a vegetarian course. It can be eaten along with the side dishes and dwenjang jiggae, or bibim it with desire namul and gochujang provided. The mackerel doesn't come along with the course, it's an extra order. I prefer bibim so I make it bibm-bap style. Ithis is my second time having boribap bibimbap in Busan. It's taste really nice and more heathier feel compare to eating normal white rice.

After lunch, we walk over to a cafe by the sea named Caffe Bay 266 for coffee. The cafe is just 50m away from Boribap restaurant - the cafe will be blog in next post. Ilgwang has become popular among the locals lately. If you are not driving, bus or taxi is the only way to Onjeong Village.

[How to get here]
Take Bus 1003 to 기장도서관 Gijang Library Station. Get down and cross the road to the opposite bus stop which is also Gijang Library, take Bus 188 to 온전 Onjeong stop. Onjeong village is just across the road opposite of Onjeong Stop (in last picture).
