After check out from hotel, had Kongnamul Gukbap (Soybean sprout soup with rice) for brunch before return to Busan. This Jeonju Kong-Ppuri Kongnamul Gukbap is a food chain restaurant that operate 24 hours. The shop in Cheolsan station, just few minutes walk from JS boutique hotel. Since it is meal hours, the small restaurant pack with customers. Still lucky to get to sit next to the window and enjoy the kongnamul gukbap with view.
How to eat the kongnamul gukbap? Just add in the sunny side-up egg, shredded roasted seaweed and rice into the soup. I don't usually seasoned the soup with saewoojeot (fermented shrimp paste) as it is savoury enough. If you prefer stronger taste, do add in some saewoojeot to bring up the taste. Sides like Baechu Geotjeori (Fresh Kimchi), Kkakdugi (Radish Kimchi) and Musaengchae (Spicy Radish Kimchi) and hard boiled eggs are served along. It cost about 6,000 won for 1 serving of Kongnamul gukbap.
