Kkokkoachi charcoal chicken & Golchigi, Yeonsan-dong

I join him for an alumni reunion gathering and met his primary schoolmates who he did not see for years at Ssangmicheon-ro. This area has quite a numbers of eateries and bars open till late night popular among the locals. The first place we went is Kkokkoachi charcoal chicken 꼬꼬아찌숯불치킨 that is popular in Instagram lately for it's charcoal grilled chicken. It has multiple chains nationwide. The branch we went in Yeonsan-dong is full house therefore order took quite a while to be served. We had their signature Charcoal grilled boneless chicken with ramen 숯불순살 매운맛 라면사리추가. It taste just like the chicken skewers we had in those Izakaya. What I find it special is the ramen and the grilled tteok (rice cake) that taste like charcoal grilled chicken too! So delicious! Our order is the spicy flavour and I was told that it is very spicy. But it was okay for me even though I don't really handle spicy well. Perfect to go with beers. This reminds me of G-cova charcoal chicken at Mont Kiara Meridin, they also have the similar charcoal chicken with tteok. Too bad they closed down recently after open for business for 2 years.

We continue 2차 (round two) at another bar eatery at the next street. His friend says this Golchigi 골치기 is another hot place in Ssangmicheon-ro, open by a friend of actor Lee Si Eon who origin from Busan - one of the host of MBC Popular reality show 'I Live Alone'. Photos with autograph of celebrities and even famous basketball players are attached on the wall next to our table. Their menu is more to fusion Pocha food - Pocha is those drinking tents setup along the street in Korea. We try their most popular menu~ Ssammu Gyeranmari 쌈무 계란말. It's egg roll wrap with perilla leaf and stir fried pork. Nice! Something new (taste) for me. Also order the other popular menu~ Spicy thinly slice meat hotpot 매콤 칼칼 대패 전골. It taste like kimchi jiggae but it's not kimchi jiggae~ the mild spicy soup with thinly slice pork meat and tangmyeon (glass noodle) is really nice to go with soju. As usual, the leftover soup can be use to make bokkuembap and we did that too.
