麥氏西池港式雲吞面. Mak's Chee Authentic Wonton, One Utama Shopping Centre

After Tim Ho Wan, another Hong Kong famous fresh prawn wonton mee by a Michelin Star Chef open its outlet in One Utama Shopping Centre. Can't believe I queue for it. Not because of the 'Michelin' title or fame. Simply because, wantan mee is my favourite! Anyway the wait is not long, about 20 mins wait. The waitress hand us the menu to take pre-order during the wait, and food serve quickly after we are seated. The kitchen is headed by the Michelin Star Chef Johnny Yu - who is holding chopsticks in the picture. He is also the descendant cum grandchild-in-law of Mak Woon Chee - the founder of Mak's chee.






We go for their signature dishes - 嫡传鲜虾云吞面 Sea Prawn Wanton Noodle Soup, 净水饺 Prawn dumplings in soup, 柱候牛筋腩捞面 Noodle with Beef Tendon & Brisket and 炸鲜虾云吞 Deep fried wonton (small). The sea prawn wonton is hidden underneath the noodle - Mak's chee's way of serving the dish. The thin wanton noodle is springily, different from the usual wanton noodle. Can taste the prawn wanton & dumplings is fresh. Among all, I personally like the beef tendon with 5 spices which is soft and melted in my mouth.
