Why books are getting pricey nowadays~ Makes me think twice before I buy a book. Luckily books are entitled for personal tax exemption, so it makes me feel better when the book price is little expensive than usual. Lately I find that Eslite bookstore pricing is slightly lower than Kinokuniya, so I often came to Eslite Spectrum after work. I did not visit other bookstore brand and make comparison since Kinokuniya and Eslite are closer and convenient for me to preview the book before buy. Anyway I finally bought another book I want to read today. I also brought my bestie here and she loves the bookstore. Happily browsing the bookstore together especially at the stationeries department, and had gelato ice-cream (in the bookstore) as dessert before go home together. My bestie relocated to KL half year ago and she's now my neighbour from next door condo! So blessed!

With Nephews~ BookXcess REXKL, Jalan Sultan
Year end break and my nephews are in town with the parents (my sis and bil)! We went to Petaling Street as well as REXKL as I want them have a look at this interesting place especially BookXcess. We first stop by food hub for lunch. Try out the Fake Bro Real Pork~ Roast pork and char siew rice and Ticklish Ribs & ‘Wiches~ BBQ pork ribs, food are good but the price is not haha! After meal, we begun our visit floor by floor until the top floor where the Maze-like-BookXcess is. I find that book price here is relatively cheap and lots of interesting books compare to my usual bookstore, however not book-browsing friendly due to the maze like design. As it is an instagrammable bookstore, many are here to tour around and take photos, not ideal for quiet reading as well. It's kind of warm near where the former theater screen area, therefore the reading corner with benches at the most highest place of the bookstore with full blast aircond is the most popular place for reading.

御書閣~ Monalisa Bookstore, Bukit Jalil
May 2020. A Saturday morning where I get to spent with book and coffee at a bookstore cafe during CMCO period, after being lockdown at home for more than a month. I purchased a book, order a cup of latte, and spent 2 hours here with the new book alone while waiting for him settle his work. I also had a mini size Haagen Dazs Belgium chocolate ice cream while taking a break from the reading, which I never did before; but better do what I want now cuz we don't know what will happen in the future. Probably due to CMCO, many people stay home, the bookstore is very quiet with only few patrons. The upper floor is closed so I did not get to explore. Besides coffee and cakes, they also serve meal such as unagi-don, rice dishes and spaghetti. Patron may sign up as a member to enjoy some discounts on book purchase but don't have to be a member to be here. However you need the purchase the book before you sit down and read it since it is a bookstore not a library cafe.
