Public Park in Hartamas & Mont Kiara~ Sri Hartamas Park

Introduce this park to bestie when we went to Jie Mee Kopitiam for breakfast last week since it was her first time explore this part of Sri Hartamas. She is happy to found out the park has a roller rink as her little girl recently into roller skating. A week later, we are here again, on a cloudy yet not so hot but with little sun morning. Normally I would walk around the park and workout a little with those fitness equipment. But today I just want to rest at the gazebo (hide from the sun) and watch bestie accompanying her girl skating around (under the sun lol). These nice public park has a modern kid's playground with high and low slides and climbing features, 4 seaters spring rides & 4 swings next to it; a basketball court, tennis court, reflexology path, build in fitness equipment(s) along the hilly walking path, gazebo and benches under the tree for rest. The only one public park in Hartamas and Mont Kiara area.

Taman Aman Park, Petaling Jaya

Never know there's such a beautiful neighbourhood park in Seksyen 22 PJ. Bestie is the one who discover it when she look for a park for morning walk while she was at Taman Paramount. Nestled inside the residential area with a lake (Tasik Aman) in the middle. The are two entrance to enter to the park from two different taman. We entering the park via the open carpark next to Taman Paramount basketball court. Unlike the entrance from the other side with direct access to lakeside and exercise equipments, this entrance need to walk down the slope a little via some stairs to the lakeside. Surrounded by trees with exercise equipment and a kids playfround along the slope, it feels so serene and I really loves this pathway. Find it a bit similar to Taman Jaya because of the LRT tracks (Kelana Jaya line) crossing thru the park where we occasionally can hear the sound of train pass thru. Though I might not come here often as it is not nearby but this beautiful park shouldn't be miss hence I am sharing it here today.

First time picnic in a park in Kuala Lumpur

My very first time picnic in a park in KL, with bestie and her little girl. Wake up at 6am as usual, not getting ready to go to work like usual but make some food for the picnic~ gyeran mari, yubu chobap, cocktail sausage and also brew coffee. Despite the heat wave is still going on in Malaysia, our picnic spot is quite shady, grasses are still wet from morning drew therefore we did not feel hot. Our picnic basically is enjoy our breakfast outdoor with lake view and chit-chat. After picnic we stroll a little at the park, feed fishes and tortoises, accompany her girl playing at the playground then head home since the sun starts burning.

Slow walk at TTDI Park & Penang Prawn Mee~ New Yong Len Coffeeshop, TTDI

Feels a little burned out. Decided to take things slow and go for a morning date with bestie. After drop off her daughter to school, we went to TTDI Park for a leisure walk~ a slow one, just half of my usual speed so I barely sweat. TTDI park still as beautiful as my first time visit. Some tree leaves turn red resembled autumn foliage, too bad my iPhone camera can't capture the redness and the feel. After the walk we went to New Yong Len~ a nearby coffeeshop for the must eat Penang Prawn Mee~ and not forget to buy home the Ampang famous Teow Chew Chai Kueh (should be Cheras famous Teow chew chai keuh now since they've moved to Cheras). And that's not the end of our dating, we also stop by nursery to get ourselves plants too and I will be blog in another separate post later.

Urban Forest Public Park~ Taman Tugu

I've been waiting for this 650mil estimation cost Taman tugu project to be complete since I first find out about it from a news article in 2016 when I was writing a post for my visit to Tugu negara. It's a non profit initiative lead by Khazanah - turn this illegal dumpsite or future commercial land which was once governments quarters into urban forest park. Finally, official open to the public in September 2019 and before I knew it, pandemic hits at the end of the year. After lockdowns unlock and life slowly back to normal, I am here during the long break of Raya holidays. Its a public park so entry and parking is FOC. Park open at 7am and close at 6.30pm. The hiking trails begins from the concrete slab wall with Taman Tugu words (refer to 1st and 2nd picture) before reaching the carpark~ a few meters walk away from the carpark. However the exit point is at the public rest area with the yellow arch next to the carpark.

There are a few spots in the jungle to be discover along the hike. First one is this concrete retaining wall that look a water dam from far. After a 15 mins hike in the jungle, the jungle trail turn into concrete path that required to ascend in order to cross over to the otherside then descend and back to jungle path again. The bonus point of this path is able to see the city view while standing at the highest point. There's a little bit of KL Tower and Petronas twin towers view from certain angle but I did not stop to take more photos after taken one photo.

The second spot is the bamboo trail after walk across the stream via a wooden bridge, which also my favourite spot in the jungle. Here you can slow down your steps a little and enjoy the tranquil moment listening to sounds of bamboo leaves swaying in the wind, and the crunch sound from slow gravel walk.

Third spot is the concrete slabs from former government quarters (homes to Malaysian government officials including Malaysia’s 1st Lord President, Malaysia’s 1st Director of Agriculture and Finance Minister Tun Tan Siew Sin) which also was home to British residences before independence.

And last spot is this observatory, few minutes hike away after these swings where I enjoyed swinging in the middle of nowhere in the jungle. Seeing this observatory also means that exit point (the yellow arch) is not far away. Don't miss to climb up to the top of this steel observatory to see the old trees that is taller than the observatory before the hike come to an end.

Total time spent approx. one hour including those longer stops at the attraction spots. Trails are well-marked, easy route with low difficulty, even parents come with their children to enjoy the jungle park. Worth to pay a visit if you looking for a easy hike or a walk in the jungle without have to travel out from KL city.
