Ultimate Pork Burger~ Café Deli by El Mesón, 163 Retail Park

A friend happens to be nearby, ask me to join in for dinner last minute. First thing we see when we enter the 163 retail park (via the entrance near Social) is El Meson pork burger advertising stand. So El Meson it is - our dinner place. Turns out El Meson and the newly open Lisette's next door are now under The Social Group. This Spanish cafe deli is the third Spanish restaurant in Mont Kiara that I know of and also the first one I've been to for a breakfast when they just newly open in 163 Retail Park in 2020.

Sharing a ultimate pork burger and my friend was expecting a double patties burger as advertised, turns out it's one pork patty only for a standard ultimate pork burger and top up extra patty is possible with extra charges. The patty is thick though. We also share a spaghetti al funghi~ spaghetti with mushrooms in truffle cream sauce. So far the Spanish restaurant's service is as good as the food, never disappoint me.

Spanish Tapas~ Mercat Barcelona Gastrobar, 1 Mont Kiara

One day in 2018 when I walk to 1MK to do groceries as usual, spotted this newly open Spanish restaurant cum deli situated at the corner-front of 1MK. Out of sudden there are 2 Spanish restaurant open in the neighbourhood before 2018 end. Their friendly waiter and waitress never fail to greet "hola" to invite whenever I walk pass that corner for all these years. Then another day, me and my friend were talking about the Spanish anchovies then he suggest we can try out Mercat since they have promo going on every Wednesday. So here we are, enjoying some tapas with a glass of wine on a Wednesday night, sitting at a table with high chairs and mural on a blue wall where a main (that looks like Charlie Chaplin) lift up the wine glass.

There is a promo on the tapas - pay 2 get 3. I let friend decided on the tapas since he knows better than me. And off course we did not miss out to try the anchovy, we order a Boquerones Fritos which is fried Spanish fresh anchovies (preserved in vinegar); Berenjena A Sada Con Miel - Roast eggpplant with honey and hazelnut, and Pork sliders with manchego cheese, red pepper, roast onion and broche bun. I like the fried anchovies - simple yet crips and tasty. Roast eggplant a kind of mushy - didn't expect that and the pork sliders is bite size so the portion is just nice and not heavy. Keen to try their mains next time.
