It's the 5th consecutive years Publika held Bon Odori in KL. This year’s theme for Publika Go Bon Odori would be the “Maneki-Neko” or better known as the beckoning cat which is often believe to bring in good luck. After our first participation in Publika's Bon Odori in 2012 which is also their first time held the celebration, this is our second time joining after missed out for 3 years. We bought Karaage (Japanese fried chicken) and onigiri (Japanese triangle rice ball) as our light dinner. We are lucky to get seats to sit down and enjoy our food while watching the bon odori dance performance, Yasokoi So-ran Dance, Yukata Contest and Yagura parade~ just same as 2012. Just like previous Bon Odori, we stay until the event end at 930 pm for the fireworks~

1st Bon Odori in KL~ Bon Odori Summer Feast 2012, Publika
July 2012. My first Bon-Odori in KL, it is also Publika's 1st Bon Odori Summer Fest 2012. It is an urban feel Bon-Odori and also the smallest scale Bon-Odori I ever attend. There is another official Bon Odori festival similar to Penang held annually in Shah Alam. But I really lazy to travel that far with all the jam and risk of parking far away from event place. Therefore, this small scale Bon Odori in my new neighbourhood with many Japanese Expats is really a great event for me to join Bon Odori again after relocate to KL. Oppa's cousin sister who are staying with us for a month during her university summer break is joining me to the event as well and having fun together.

Bon Odori 2008~ Esplanade Penang
July 2008. Our second time participating in Bon Odori together. There are a few "first time" this year : Highest attendance in the history - more than 30,000 people attended; three teams of performers invited from Japan - Miyabi Taiko Drum Team, Ryukyu Koku Matsuri Daiko Troup & Tamagusukuryu Senjyukai Group - who performed for the first time in Penang; the Ryukyubuyo Tamagusukuryu Senjyukai's dance that we see for the first time in Bon-odori; and my first time tried out the Yukata. Thanks to Simmy-san who put it up for me. Next year I will try out Yukata again during the Bon-odori festival.

Bon Odori 2007~ Esplanade Penang
July 2007. My second time joining the Bon Odori event. This year I am not taking care of the company booth like last year, so I came to enjoy the event - participate in any game I like, enjoy the food and drinks with the coupon purchased, watch the dance performance and stay until the event end with fireworks at 9.30pm.
