Spanish Tapas~ Mercat Barcelona Gastrobar, 1 Mont Kiara

December 2021. Spotted this newly open Spanish restaurant cum deli at the corner-front of 1MK in 2018 when I walked to 1MK to do my usual groceries. Out of sudden there are two Spanish restaurant open in the neighbourhood before 2018 end. All these years, whenever I walked pass the corner, the friendly waiter and waitress standing in front of the Mercat never fail to greet "hola" to invite people for dine-in. On a Wednesday, I was talking to friend about the Spanish anchovies, he said: come, lets go to Mercat for the anchovies and apparently they have promo going on every Wednesday. And here we are, sitting at the table with high chairs with mural on a blue wall~ where the man looks like Charlie Chaplin~ trying out their tapas over a glass of wine on Wednesday night.

The Wednesday promo is pay for 2 and get 3 Tapas. Off course we did not miss out the Spanish anchovy~ we order a Boquerones Fritos which is fried Spanish fresh anchovies (preserved in vinegar); a Berenjena A Sada Con Miel which is roast eggpplant with honey and hazelnut, a Pork sliders with manchego cheese, red pepper, roast onion and broche bun, a glass of white wine for me and friend choose to go for red wine. We love the fried anchovies~ simple yet crips and tasty. The Roast eggplant a kind of mushy. Pork sliders in the other hand is made in bite size so the portion is just nice and not heavy. Keen to try more probably will go for the mains next visit.
