Zoo Negara Malaysia~ National Zoo of Malaysia

Have fun at Zoo Negara with nephews, sis + bro in law. It's my first time visit Zoo Negara. The zoo looks like old Penang Botanical Garden (before it's major upgrades) for me but maintaining well and in good condition. During covid pandemic lockdowns the zoo have to closed down (no visitors means no income), and having financial crisis in operations fund. After the news broke out, besides governments' aide, public has extend their helping hand and the zoo received a lot of food contributions (vegetables, fruits even 2.5 tonnes of meat worth RM300k according to news). So here we are today to contribute as well as visitor (paying entrance fee) to help the Zoo. I am so happy that I finally get to meet the two giant panda Fu Wa and Feng Yi (Xing Xing and Liang Liang) and their 3rd daughter~ 7 months old baby panda Sheng Yi~ Watching them feels like I am watching Aibao, Lebao (Korea's giant pandas) and their first born~ Fubao (born July 20, 2020). Shared with you some of my favourite moments of the day that I captured as pictures and videos, begin with Savannah Walk and the giraffes~

This Capybara looks like being kickout from the group and failed to fight for food lol. It stands still at the stairs looking at us for a without a single move even until we left. There's a cat (looks like someone's home cat) laying comfortably behind the group of the capybaras that are busy eating~ Such a cute scene because Capybara is largest species rodents (same family with mouse/mice) but they seems get a long so well. Must be a cat living in nearby housing area next to zoo often sneak into zoo and befriended with animals here haha!

Fu Wa, Feng yi and Sheng Yi were all sleeping when we were there. So lucky that when it is our turn to watch them closely at the bridge, nai-ba (zookeeper) came out to wake Feng Yi up gently and place the apples to lead her down to the ground. And we get to see Feng Yi moving around~

That's videos of Feng Yi woke up and eat apple at the above~ and some multi animal show by the racoon, sea lion and parrots (I didn't capture parrots as I decided to put down my phone and enjoy the show) at below~

With Nephews~ BookXcess REXKL, Jalan Sultan

Year end break and my nephews are in town with the parents (my sis and bil)! We went to Petaling Street as well as REXKL as I want them have a look at this interesting place especially BookXcess. We first stop by food hub for lunch. Try out the Fake Bro Real Pork~ Roast pork and char siew rice and Ticklish Ribs & ‘Wiches~ BBQ pork ribs, food are good but the price is not haha! After meal, we begun our visit floor by floor until the top floor where the Maze-like-BookXcess is. I find that book price here is relatively cheap and lots of interesting books compare to my usual bookstore, however not book-browsing friendly due to the maze like design. As it is an instagrammable bookstore, many are here to tour around and take photos, not ideal for quiet reading as well. It's kind of warm near where the former theater screen area, therefore the reading corner with benches at the most highest place of the bookstore with full blast aircond is the most popular place for reading.

One night staycation~ Hyatt House Mont Kiara

One night stay at Hyatt House before 2021 end. A staycation in my own neighbourhood since travel overseas is still not allowed. Room is modern and cozy and ideal for short term stay - comfy bed, sofa, work desk and a kitchen equipped with basic utensils, fridge, microwave and purified drinking dispenser. The window view from my room is so so, partially blocked by Wisma YNH and The Ooak Suites. But the view from rooftop swimming pool is stunning, unblock Mont Kiara view facing Gombak district. Genting Highlands can be see very clearly since the sky is clear this morning. As swimming is not allowed without booking (restrictions and controls due to covid pandemic), I have a peaceful time enjoying the view next to the pool without crowds. Had breakfast at the hotel's gallery kitchen. Again due to covid pandemic restrictions, no breakfast buffet but it's individual serving plate based on your choice (with limited selections).

Christmas afternoon coffee~ Pulp, AWP, Bangsar

Christmas afternoon. No plan today, woke up without alarm and have a hearty brunch at home. Then go for afternoon tea with a good friend for a cup of good coffee and a slice of cheesecake at The PULP at APW. This former art printing worksite house a few nice eateries for good breakfast, brunch, lunch, coffee, tea time to dinner that worth to try. And there goes my Christmas, just passed like that with doing nothing much. Previous two Christmas(s) wasn't a good one for me, one of it is horror. I am glad that this Christmas is peaceful just like what is suppose to be.
