May 2017. Instead of going PJ or TTDI for park, today we come to Perdana Botanical Garden for walk. The lake garden is actually pretty close to our neighbourhood but we just never thought of pay a visit so far. But we did visit some of the museums nearby though~ Muzium Negara, Royal Malaysian Police Museum, Tugu Negara...We arrived the park around 10 something in the morning after our breakfast, so we take a leisure stroll by going one full round of the park.
Perdana Botanical Garden, Kuala Lumpur
From where we parked our car we can see the parliament building in front of us as we walk down the way to the park. There are few entrance going into lake garden actually, all just few hundred meter from each others. After enter to the park, we immediately see this huge children playground. My nephews would be happy to play here if time winds back to 2-3 years ago.
We walked along the streams and lake side where we see KL sentral, Hilton hotel, Meridin hotel etc in front of us. At the end of the lakeside there is a tunnel underneath the Jalan Damansara that links both Perdana Botanital Garden with Muzium Negara (National Museum of Malaysia) and KL Sentral. We also saw the upcoming MRT station for Muzium Negara is underway from the other end of the tunnel.
When my iPhone camera panorama mode goes wrong, the scene become like Armageddon haha! The is an islet in the middle of the lake which is habitat of white cranes and ducks which I did not take photo, full of white cranes that bugling from time to time. Wonder are those birds coming from the nearby KL bird park?
That's the square where events and activities can be held. The futuristic feel giant tree architecture is stunning. Looks familiar but not the same as those avatar feel trees in Singapore's gardens by bay. We took a short break here at the table and bench with his favourite Korean cheese-stick.
After the short break, we walk up to a slope to Taman Rusa, but no rusa (deer) spotted...Only ayam hutan (junglefowl) found. Where is the deer? Turns out we still need to walk further after the junglefowl house for it which we missed out due to no proper signage to guide us there. After see no deer, we head back to where we park our car. home. Overall, we spent about an hour here for a loop. Will be back again next week for a brisk walk or perhaps a run here at the lake garden.
Soft boiled eggs + kaya butter toast set~ Rail Canteen, Sunway Nexis
May 2017. This Rail Canteen from the Original Kluang Railway Canteen beneath our office floor is my usual everyday breakfast place before start work. Always order the usual soft boiled egg set with kaya butter toast and Kopi C Kosong. Once in a while will had their Meehoon siam. Occasionally will also come here for lunch - their signature Nasi Lemak with Ayam Rempah and Hainanese Chicken Chop is a must try if you visit Rail Canteen.
Korean BBQ with grilled cheese~ Sae Ma Eul BBQ, Publika
May 2017. After work, so stress.. feel like having a can of cold beer with Samgyeopsal as dinner. So we try out Sae Ma Eul latest branch in Publika as we don't really feel like going to their Solaris branch which is full of people all the time due to the eat all you can buffet. New place seems like taking care by the owner's children - young Koreans. Menu choices is limited but I find it easier to make decision on what to order. We go for the RM63 BBQ set that serve 2-3 pax - it has sliced pork belly, pork shoulder and grilled baby octopus. Top up RM13 for the Cheese Gui (grilled cheese). The portion just nice to feed two pax in my opinion. Not the best Korean BBQ we had so far but not bad.
Pork Free Thai Food~ Thai Tuk Tuk, Publika
May 2017. Among all the Thai restaurants (big or small scales) around Mont Kiara, Thai Tuk Tuk in Publika is one of it that selling decent and authentic Thai street food in the neighbourhood. We have been eating here pretty often for the past 3 years. It's a pork free Thai restaurant with wide range of Thai street food in their menu. Besides the Thai milk tea which is not really up to my liking, those food I had tried so far were all good. The only thing about this place is not air-conditioning, so its a little hot and humid inside the restaurant. Dishes that I like are Phad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, Tomyum Seafood, Nam Tok Beef Noodle, Crispy Chicken Skin, Thai Fish Cake, Mango Sticky Rice and Banana in Coconut Milk, which you may refer to their photos posted at below.

Gangnam Oppa BBQ, Damansara Uptown
May 2017. One of our favourite Korean bbq place since last year. We like their value worth combo set especially the one with baby octopus. But what we like the most is the thick cut of the meat, good side dish and the worker's BBQ skill. Skill is important as it will ruins the meat if the worker doesn't know how to grill it well. Parking is always a challenge here in Damansara Uptown. Sometimes when we really out of luck, 2 full rounds also can't get parking space, we will park inside the Starling Mall and walk over to the restaurant. I guess that's one of the reason why sometimes we are reluctant to come here to this area especially during peak hour.
