North Port Sea View & Fried Tapioca Noodles~ Chiem Choo Seafood Restaurant, Klang

Sunday, went to Klang for food trip again! Finally I get to see the sea as I wish. Although the view wasn't really what I expected, I am happy enough. It's one of the nearest seaside that still in Klang valley vicinity~ Tanjung Harapan, North port. Basically we are looking at a open sea where the green line between the sky and sea is the mangrove swamps before Pulau Ketam. After looking at the sea for 5 mins (It's 12 noon, hot & humid and surrounding were quiet, we scared...hahaha) we left and head for lunch.

We are here for old taste Hokkien dishes that made with tapioca flour. Friend said back then during those old days, tapioca flour is cheap and commonly use to substitute rice which is expensive. That's how the dish created by the Hokkiens in Malaysia. Their signature dish is the Cha-tapioca flour noodle 炒薯粉根 / 茨粉根. It is similar to KL fried Hokkien mee, but the noodles texture is more starchy but not sticky due to the pork lard oil. The other signature dish is the Tung Poh Yuk (stewed pork belly) + tapioca kueh. The tapioca kueh goes well with the tong po meat, however it is really really filling even just with 2-3 pieces. I think we over order the food or overly eat! We also had the Seafood Bak Kut Teh with rice. Another unique experience for me thanks to friend.
