One fine Saturday before November end. Also the first outing after self-lockdown for several months. Initially came here for a cup of coffee after brunch. Later surprise to find out REXKL has a lot of hidden gem to be discover. I read about the building was one of the first and oldest theatres since 1947, closed down after fire happened twice. Until lately it was rebuilt again and turn into an arts and cultural hub. The restoration lead by a group of well-known local architects which includes Seksan of Sekeping retreats (which I know of). The mazed-like-bookstore BookXcess at the top floor will stunned you with it's architecture and design. Friend who brought me here for coffee didn't know bout the bookstore. The food vendors at the back of the ground floor has creative names for their shop or stall. I will revisit again for the foods.

Bro's bday~ Sushiya, Plaza Mont Kiara
Sis and I buy our brother an expensive Japanese lunch on his birthday. Initially wanted to try out Omakase at Sushiya Mont Kiara but when I call up to make rsvp Suhiya Mont Kiara said they don't doesn't do Omakase but the other outlet does. Since brother prefer to come over to Mont Kiara, we still choose to dine in at Sushiya Mont Kiara. Well, it doesn't really matter anyway with or without Omakase, the sashimi is high in quality and we have a good meal at our first visit. And off course it is pricey~ total bill including tax is RM418 but what we pay is worth for the price. Thanks to sis who chip in for the bill but didn't get to enjoy since she is 370km away. We a bit over-order~ Assorted Sashimi for 2 (RM 160), Tako Sashimi (RM40), Kaisen Chirashi (RM 75), Tempura Don (RM 30), Volcano Roll (RM 24), Chawamushi and hot / cold green tea for 3 pax. All in RM 418.20 after tax. Maybe without the volcano roll it will be perfect and just nice for our tummy. Many commented the place is kind of "hidden" as it is not so noticeable but I find it standing out. An enclosed space behind a bamboo sliding door and tinted window where you can't see what's inside, next to HSBC and Block A lobby.
