Gayoon follows me back to Penang for working trip. I book a hotel in town instead of staying at my parents or sis place so she could visit around while I am at work (but she didn't lol). Today I finish my work earlier than expect, so I make time to bring her go round Georgetown for sightseeing especially at the George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site. She is keen to visit those heritage buildings in Penang after she saw my wedding photos which was taken at several heritage site such as Penang Town Hall, Esplanade, Fort Cornwallis, Pinang Peranakan Mansion & UAB building.
Begin from Royal hotel where we stay as starting point, I drove along Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah (where she can see heritage bungalows along the seaside) -- Lebuh Faqurhar (Penang high court, Penang State Museum, St George Anglican Church, E&O Hotel) -- Light Street (Penang State Legislative Assembly, Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce ) -- Esplanade (Penang Town Hall, Fort Cornwallis) -- Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower -- Swettenham pier -- Beach Street (HSBC, Presgrave & Matthews (SC bank), Logan heritage) -- Gat Lebuh Victoria / Gat Lebuh China (UAB Bulding) -- and Church Street (Pinang Peranakan Mansion) is our last stop.
St George Anglican Church
Built in 1818, St. George’s Church stands as one of the oldest landmarks in Malaysia and is the oldest Anglican Church in South East Asia. It was gazette by the Museum Department as a historical site in 1996 and subsequently listed as one of Malaysia’s 50 National Heritage Treasures in 2007. Restored in 2010, the Parish of St. George The Martyr remains a place of worship for the Anglican community and a priceless heritage to the people of Penang.
Penang State Museum and Art Gallery
Though I've been here countless times, still we spent more than an hour here as it has so much to see and worth to pay attention for every details. Established and opened by the first Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman on 1964. Penang State Museum building is recognized as a heritage building under the Heritage Act 2005.
Penang Town Hall
The City Hall of George Town or Dewan Bandaraya George Town is a Victorian-style building in Esplanade (Jalan Padang Kota Lama). It was constructed in 1903, and opened in 1906, the Town Hall is the city's oldest municipal building, as it once housed the Municipal Commission of George Town. This is also one of the heritage building where I took wedding photo with it as background last year.
Fort Cornwallis
Here we spent another hour at Fort Cornwallis while exploring Esplande for the seaview of Straits of Melacca. Fort Cornwallis is a bastion fort in Georgetown Penang, also the largest standing fort in Malaysia. Built by the British East India Company, after Captain Francis Light following his settlement of Penang Island (then known as Prince of Wales Island) in the late 18th century. The fort was built intended to respond to possible enemy threats during the Napoleonic wars and named after the then Lieutenant-General The 2nd Earl Cornwallis (1738–1805), the Governor-General of Bengal at the time of the fort's construction.

Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower
The Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower is a Moorish-style Jubilee clocktower within George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located at the intersection of Light Street and Beach Street, it was built to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897. The tower is sixty feet to the centre of the clock, one foot for each year of Victoria's reign. A corner of the wall surrounding Fort Cornwallis is situated behind the tower.

The Pinang Peranakan Mansion
Last stop of the day, we chose to visit to Pinang Peranakan Mansion between Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion and here since we only have little time left and Gayoon chose here because of I took my wedding photos here (I attached it in the last photo). The Pinang Peranakan Mansion is a museum dedicated to Penang's Peranakan heritage. The museum itself is housed within a distinctive green-hued mansion at Church Street, George Town, which once served as the residence and office of a 19th-century Chinese tycoon, Chung Keng Quee.The mansion contains thousands of Peranakan artifacts, antiques and collectibles, as well as showcasing Peranakan interior design and customs. This place also mark as an end of our Georgetown Unesco Heritage Site visit.
