Royal Malaysia Police Museum | Muzium Polis Diraja Malaysia

After Tugu Negara, we also visit the Royal Malaysia Police Museum (Muzium Polis Diraja Malaysia) which is just few km away. The museum is way more interesting than we expect. Kids don't find it boring as the museum exhibits fascinating collections of The Malaya States Police Forces from British colonial time till present. The building is former Police Training Centre with archive of criminal evidence for training use. It turned into Royal Malaysian Police Museum later in 1980s. The Museum divide into 3 galleries. We begin with police armoured vehicles that exhibit outdoors - Short-land Armoured Patrol Vehicle, Commando V 100 APC, GMC Armoured Personnel Carrier, Sankey AT-105 Armoured Car, Ford Lynx Scout Car, Marine Boat PA-4 2220 and Royal Diraja Malaysia Aircraft.

Gallery A starts from main entrance - exhibits of colonial police uniforms. equipment, medals, weaponry etc. Also the early days of the Malacca Sultanate empire, its history and downfall, through paintings, drawings and weaponry displays. There is a mini theater next to the entrance of gallery A where you can sit down and watch the short video clip of introduction of The Royal Police Force in Malaysia and it's history.

Gallery B showcases the history of the police force's vehicles as well as unusual evidence from past cases, including from investigations into triads, secret societies, and communists. This gallery has the most remarkable exhibition features a wide-range of confiscated weapons of triads, secret societies and criminals from the past. We spent the longest time here browsing rows and rows of weapons.

Gallery C is dedicated to the role of the Royal Malaysia Police during specific historical periods, including the Japanese occupation during WWII and the Bukit Kepong tragedy (armed encounter between the Federation of Malaya Police and Malaya Communist Party in 1950s). No photography allowed, so there is nothing to show here about inside. The other pictures are Special Police Force in action (dummies) in the middle of courtyard while we going over to Gallery C from Gallery B.

Tugu Negara~ National Monument Malaysia

December 2016. Because of my nephew Jack, I revisit Tugu Negara after 2 decades. Jack read about Tugu Negara in his text book and wish to see the bronze soldiers statue in real during his short holidays in KL. So here we are at Tugu Negara, on the last day of 2016.

The Bronze Sculpture constructed in 1966. This 15.5 meters tall sculpture is built to commemorates those who died during the World War II and Malayan Emergency 1948-1960. The 7 bronze soldiers figures each symbolizes leadership, suffering, unity, vigilance, strength, courage and sacrifice. The 5 standing figures represents victorious allied forces, the 2 lie on the ground represents the defeated communist forces.

This crescent shaped Pavillion located between the Cenotaph and Bronze Sculpture has 3 golden onion-shaped domes which symbolized of Islam. While the 14-pointed stars are represents the equal status of the 13 Federation members and the Federal government. Beneath the crescent shape dome, you can see the national emblem of the 13 states which I combine all in one photo at below.

Last but not least, this Cenotaph with inscription "Untok Mengingat Jasa Pahlawan-Pahlawan Yang Gugor - To Our Glorious Dead" was originally located at Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin. It has moved to current location in 1964 and was built to commemorate the fallen heroes on World War I (1914–1918), World War II (1939–1945) and Malayan Emergency (1948-1960).

By the way, there is a RM650 million transformation project known as Taman Tugu going on at the park behind Tugu Negara. The project, which spans an area of 66 acres will conserve the tropical forest besides building recreational facilities for public. Can't wait to visit it after the project complete.

2016 Christmas Trees in Publika

Merry Christmas~ Here's this year's Christmas trees at Publika and my annual visit for the Christmas trees on Christmas day! Publika still having the most special design Christmas trees among all the shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur.

Christmas brunch~ Breadfruits, Desa Sri Hartamas

Merry Christmas~ It's a Christmas Sunday. Woke up without alarm clock, lazy to go far. Decided to go to Breadfruit for a good brunch. I think I've blog about Breadfruit before 2 yeas ago during first visit. After haven't been here sometimes, surprise to find out that the place has been renovated - from fruits cum brunch cafe, turn into a wine bar restaurant. Where has all the fruits gone? There are more tables to accommodate more patrons compare to before. Especially the long table with benches which can accommodate up to 10pax. However, the gap between 2 tables still as narrow as before. We dare not speak too loud or have private conversation as we afraid the next table could hear us. haha!

Still love our old choice ~ SatisFry Up @ RM30.00. It has Pork sausage, scrambled eggs, sauteed mushrooms, roasted cherry tomatoes, mashed potato, rockets, and toast. We upgrade the free coffee to cappuccino with RM4.00 extra cost, and complementary juice of the day is fresh watermelon juice today. We also order their Baked Breakfast @ RM25.00 which consist of sausage, bacon, sunny side up, shimeji, cherry tomatoes, cheese rocket & toast. I find it a bit dry for since it is 'baked'. I still prefer their SatisFry-up; and with just RM5.00 different, I can get either sausage or bacon, scrambled or sunny side-up, sauteed mushroom instead of shimeji, a mashed potatoes, and comes with a drink with choice of coffee / tea and juice of the day.
