Kyochon Fried Chicken in Malaysia~ Kyochon 1991, One Utama Shopping Centre

KyoChon is in Malaysia. They are open since end of last year but we visit 3 months later only to avoid the queues. Founded in 1991, Kyochon is one of the largest Korean fried chicken restaurant chain in South Korea with over 1,000 restaurants worldwide currently. Those who visits Korea especially K-pop fans probably will put Kyochon fried chicken as one of the must eat in Korea.

Currently the menu in Malaysia offer 4 flavours drumstick or wingette & drumette only. The 4 flavours are Original Soy Series, Red series, Honey Series and Salsal Series. Soy series and Red series - 5pcs @ RM9.90 / 10pcs @ RM19.80 / 20pcs @ RM39.50. While Honey series and Salsal series - 5pcs @ RM10.90 / 10pcs @ RM21.80 / 20pcs @ RM43.50. We tried all four flavours with choice of wingette and drumette. We were told to wait at least 15 mins as the fried chicken will be cook only after order placed. So that customer can enjoy the fresh and crunchy fried chicken.

Original Soy & Red Series - 5pcs each
The first 2 flavours served is the Original Soy (left) and Red (right) wingette & drumette. The original soy flavour is the shop's original recipe - taste like lightly coated with soya sauce & garlic but not garlic bites spotted. While Red series is hot and spicy. According to the waiter the spicy was came from Korea red chilli pepper

Salsal strips - 5pcs
Third flavour is Salsal Strips (Right) - deep fried boneless chicken breast coated with special rice batter. It comes with choice of 3 dipping sauce - Jambalaya, Honey mustard or Red (Spicy). We choose honey mustard (the yellow dipping sauce).

Honey series - 5pcs
The fourth flavour serve about 5 minutes later after the first 3 served. We didn't wait too long anyway. It is worth to wait as the fried chicken was serve hot and fresh! The honey series wingette & drumette taste sweet but not overdo, the best among all.

We finished all 4 flavours x 5pcs = 20 pcs of wingette and drumette in a blink! Total bill cost RM54.10 Oppa commented the portion is abit small compare to the price we pay for a whole fried chicken from Korean fried chicken shop that we often order for delivery. By the way KyoChon 1991 is Halal, our Muslim friend now get to enjoy Korean fried chicken too!
